Hatha yoga refers to a physical set of practices (asanas), which support the alignment of muscles and bones, as well as opening the energy channels within the body so that energy can easily flow. Hatha can be translated as ‘ha’ referring to the sun and femininity, and ‘tha’ referring to the moon and masculinity; Hatha Yoga is a practice that helps restore balance in the body and mind. By bringing attention to the breath we can steady the whirlpools of the mind and become more present in the moment.
My Hatha Yoga classes incorporate gentle and more slower paced approaches to postures, gentle flows, mindful movements and meditation. Each week we focus on different postures that support wellbeing and balance, and re-visit more challenging postures for a sense of achievement and progression.
